Legal Question in Criminal Law in Nevada

criminal law

My son was arrested for attempted robbery. He was intoxicated and probably on some type of drugs. He has a drug/alcohol abuse problem in the past. He doesnt remember the incident but was told he waived a gun around and attempted to rob a 7-11. He walked out with nothing but friends walked out with beer. Should he plead not guilty as he doesnt remember the incident or sign a waiver in which he would get a min of 12-36 months in prison with possibility of parole or max 1-10 years in prison with possibility of parole? What is the max they can give him for this charge? First adult offense just turned 18 last Sep 2008

Re: criminal law

Voluntary intoxication is not a defense and armed robbery is non-probationable. He is facing 12 years in prison. He should be able to swing a deal

Where he does less than 4 years before making parole.
