Legal Question in Criminal Law in Nevada

embezzlement arraignment

I have a relative that has an arraignment coming up soon in Nevada for embezzlement (1400.00). I do not believe he will appear without transportation or money to get there. He has no lawer, and since his arrest has gone to stay with other relatives in California. Can he get this arrainment postponed via the phone without the help of a lawer? If he does not make the arraingnment will a warrant and possibly extridition follow? This is a first time offense will prison follow if a warrant is issued?

Re: embezzlement arraignment

If he fails to appear for his court date a warrant for his arrest will be issued by the Court. You cannot get a continuance over the phone. My suggestion would be to hire an attorney to get a continuance if not to represent him.

Re: embezzlement arraignment

Your relative must appear in court or have an attorney make an appearance on his behalf. If your relative fails to appear at his arraignment a warrant will be issued for his arrest.

My office handles all criminal matters. If you would like to discuss his case contact my office at your convenience and we can discuss the situation.
