Legal Question in Family Law in Nevada

Divorce

I reside in Elko, Nevada, and have been told that if I move out of my home without taken any sort of legal action regarding a divorce it would be considered relinquishing my rights to the home. The property is in my name and my husband's, and there is no threat of violence that would necessitate my moving out. Is this in fact true, and would it still apply even if I moved into a hotel, rather than establishing a permanent residence?

No, your moving out would have no effect on your ownership rights to the residence. Sometimes, it can affect child custody rights if a parent moves out and establishes a visitation schedule.
