Legal Question in Intellectual Property in Nevada

using casino chips as jewelry

I manufacture jewelry .

I hope to make an ongoing line of casino jewelry using casino chips.

I know that you can sell chips as a collector but it is legal to place the chip in a piece of jewelry and sell it?

I would be interested also in haveing our designs copywrited on an ongoing basis.

Most important question is can i copy their design of a chip and make a replica of it in jewelry and than sell it??

Re: using casino chips as jewelry

If the chip has the Casino name on it, and you put in on other products without the Casino's permission, you are implying an association between your product and the casino and are probably commiting trademark infringement and an actionable false designation of origin (unfair competition). You should get a license from the Casino, or you will be gambling on the Casino thinking you not worth stopping. Maybe you can convince the Casino this is good free advertising for them, but I think it unlikely they will allow you to make uncontrolled free use of their name.
