Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Nevada

Am I entitled to collect commissions if my license has recently expired?

I work as an assistant to a Real-estate agent here in Nevada. He is about to close escrow on a transaction that he commenced BEFORE his license expired. His broker is threating to hold his commission UNTIL he reinstates his license. Can his broker legally do this?

Real Estate Commission

That would depend on Nevada state law. You could call the licensing agency in Nevada and pose the question. I would take the position that the commission was earned when the agent was licensed, and therefore it is owing. However, some statutes prohibit PAYMENT of commission to unlicensed person. See what the local licensing regulations say, and check (anonymously) with the licensing ageny in Nevada.
