I live here in las vegas, nevada, county of clark. my sister and i have purchased a home together and i filed for chapter 7 babkruptcy and it has been discharged. i would like to know if she can quitcaim deed the property to me so that it want affect her credit or does my filing of bankruptcy automatically affect her credit. i did not file the property in the bankruptcy, i was told that i didn't have to because her name was on the property, also there are no liens on the property and i owe no anything. i do have a wife and 2 children and the bankruptcy is on her credit and we are seperated. please advise me as to what i should do, regarding the quitclaim deed and my sisters and wifes credit. my wife's name is not on the property.

If you are saying you did not list this home in your Bankruptcy petition, you are going to have a big problem unless you fix this right away! Please see a bankruptcy attorney immediately if this is the case.

Since your question is about problems other people are having with their credit due to your bankruptcy, they will need to reveiw their credit reports & file disputes to any references to bankruptcy. This is a common problem that occurs when one person on a loan files bankruptcy & the other does not. The credit bureau isn't really set up to deal with this effectively & doesn't take very much time entering the incorrect information. So those who haven't filed have to stay on top of this. However, this problem can be managed with persistence.

Good luck!
