Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Nevada

I had friends that lived and passed away in Clark County, Nevada. I live in California and was told by my friends over a year ago that I was in their will.

I do not know the name of the attorney that wrote either their will or living trust but I am pretty sure it is an attorney in the Las Vegas. How could I find out who the attorney was who wrote the trust or living trust? Can you refer a reasonable attorney in Clark County who could investigate this? What is the usual fee to find out if i am a beneficiary of their trust? They passed away almost one month ago so what is the usual time I should expect to be notified by the attorney or the executor of their trust or living trust?

Thank You,

Ronald Percival

Go to this website: http://www.clarkcountycourts.us/CaseLookupLinks.htm

and then click on 8th Jud. Dist. Ct. Then click on family court. Then do a party search using your friend's name. If the deceased person's was filed, it will eventually show up on this website.

Unfortunately, someone has to actually file the will. If no will is filed the person's closest relatives can claim the person died without a will and have the property distributed to themselves.

Trusts are usually not filed with the Court.

It often happens that people say they will include someone in their will or trust and actually don't do it.
