Legal Question in DUI Law in New Hampshire

Told a lie

a friend got busted for dwi while he was sitting in my car in the driver seat while i was inside talking with a friend but the car was off although the key was in the ignition when i came out the police had already arrested him they asked me who drove i said he did but it was me he just got in my seat just in case he had to move the car the car was parked in an appartment parking lot so if now tell them that i drove the car myself what will happen can they bust me for dwi or is it to late for them to do anything -Please help-

DWI is always very fact oriented. Your friend needs a lawyer--period. It does not make a lot of sense that you would say your friend was driving unless you had something to drink. If you did, then it is possible they could try to charge you with DWI if you admit that you had been drinking. However, they must prove you were "impaired to any degree".

You both need lawyers and different ones.
