Legal Question in Education Law in New Hampshire

College Campus Safety

Campus safety at the college me and my roomate live at followed us one night to a location off of college property and busted us for smoking marijuana. Now the college wants to make us leave for a sememster. My question is, can they do anything to us if we were off of campus property?

Start with the student code of conduct. If it has been fairly applied, then you're out of luck. It smells, though, so you might want to have a lawyer look more deeply into the jurisdiction of this guard and whether the colelge even had the right to receive reports on minor incidents occurring off-campus.
