Legal Question in Family Law in New Hampshire

NH Child Support

I want to petition the courts to reduce or waive my child support due to the rising cost of living as compared to when I got divorced. I am not sure if I should do this due to the fact that I now earn double the wage I did when my divorce was completed, my fear is that I will be subjected to an increase in support. I am currently in a relationship with a woman and we have 1 minor child together and we also care her her 2 minor children, she recieves no support from her ex, but I feel the courts won't care about this and the strain I face trying to pay my current support. My ex is remarried and has considerable financial stability over myself.... does her income come into play with my support order and if so is it based on her and her husband's income now that they are married? In short I need a way to reduce my support without giving up my daughter, and I also need to make sure I am available to my current family situation and their needs as well. Thank you for your time

Re: NH Child Support

New Hampshire will set your child support at a fixed percentage of your income; this may or may not help your situation. The courts will not consider any voluntary support (gifts) you provide to your girlfriend and her children. You should consult with a lawyer to determine the specifics of what you can expect your child support to be set at if you move to recalculate the number.
