Legal Question in Real Estate Law in New Hampshire

Verbal agreement

My landlord and I had an agreement for the payment of back rent. The agreement was that if I payed $300 before Sept. 1, 2000 that I didn't have to move out of my apt. However now he is bringing me to court saying that I have been living on the property when I shouldn't be. My question is in NH isn't a verbal agreement binding, so there for when I paid the $300 the eviction notice was void?

Re: Verbal agreement

If the landlord was going to accept a payment and still go through with the eviction, it must notify you in writing. If he did not, the case should be dismissed.
