Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in New Hampshire

Protecting assets for child

What type of trust (revocable, irrevocable, living, after-death???)should I set up to protect my house and ins. policies so that when I die or need nursing home care, my child will inherit everything easily, and nothing will be taken from the estate?

Re: Protecting assets for child

The type of trust will be based on the amount of assets you are looking to shelter and the purpose, as well as your present age and expeected future needs; further, Social Security "Look-Back" provisions can complicate transfers. Recent amendments to the NH trust laws increase the options available to you for trust and asset management. if you would like to duscuss your situation with one of our trust and estate attorneys, please contact me.
