I have read Mr. Davies reply to you and agree. I have one additional comment. It is rarely economical for you to file bankruptcy for yourself. A lawyer can usually advise you as to any bills that have to be paid. The lawyer's fee will usually be offset by the bills that you don't pay immediately before filing the bankruptcy petition.

Yes, you can file for yourself, but it is not really easy and it is not really simple. YOu must obtain the official bankruptcy filing forms, and fill them in properly. There are numerous 'do it yourself' kits available online. It is a bit like doing your own medical treatment, you may not get good results, and since you know almost nothing about the intricacies of the law (which is about to change a great deal, Oct 17, 2005) you may get poorer results than if you hire an attorney.

If you decide to retain an attorney, and live in northern NJ, please call me. 973 890 0400.

Good luck to you,
