Legal Question in Bankruptcy in New Jersey

Financed Auto

I have had my vehicle since 2004 and am currently behind in payments about 4 months.. I will be filing for chapter 7 bankruptcy in the beginning of September and would like to know what will happen with the vehicle? I would like to keep it will I have to pay the past 4 months to keep it or can I include the months I am behind in the bankruptcy and then start to make the payments when the bk is discharged? I am a little unclear on how it works.. The car is only worth about 11000..

Re: Financed Auto

If you are filing a bankruptcy, then your attorney should absolutely positively explain what your three different options are. If not, get another attorney and get your money back.

If you dont have an attorney, get one. The bankruptcy process has become much more complicated after October 17, 2005, because the law was changed.

If you would like, give me a call; I am in northern New Jersey. I will discuss this with you; the telephone consultation will be free. I would be happy to help you out.
