Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in New Jersey

Hello,

I am a Lebanese woman who was married in 2005 to an indian-american man who abused me (I am a domestic violence case). I reported him to the police in Wilmington DE, where we used to live, and left The States in 2005 and just returned here last month to settle down in NJ.

I found out today that he used my name on visa cards and credit cards (he works in a bank) to make payments here and there without paying it off which caused me a bad credit. I gftuess he did that knowing i won't come back to The States!!

Please dvise me on what can I do. Can I sue him? What might happen? How? Where? I need your legal advise urgently.

Appreciate your assistance.

Hanaa

This is a typical case of stolen identity. Yuo can sue him - at the very least, and it would probably be best to do so in the Delawre courts. You can also file a police report against him and it is possible that he might be arrested for fraud. I can answer more specifically if you call me on the telphone. You can call me at the number listed on my bio at this web site or you can call me anytime, including this weekend, if you wish, at this numbe nine one five two six one three eight nine three

Please keep in mind that my response is just a general comment on your question, and not legal advice. Your question and any response does NOT create an attorney-client relationship between you and this law firm. The exact details of your situation and things that you have not mentioned in your question can completely change the answer to your question. You can not rely upon what I have written, because I do not have all of the information that I need to advise you, I only have the very small amount of information that you put into your question. For me to give you any legal advice, I would need for you to hire me to be your lawyer, and then we would need to discuss this in detail and go over the documents.

To get legal advice that you can rely on and use, please contact me directly. I would be happy to assist you.
