Legal Question in Criminal Law in New Jersey

Gun Laws in New Jersey

I have a concealed carry permit in Pennsylvania. I was in new jersey and got pulled over. They arrested me for carrying a firearm without a license, possession of hollow point bullets, and possession of a high-capacity magazine. This is all legal in PA. I am 38, never been arrested. Can I get probation? Can I keep a conviction off my record?

These are serious charges but it sounds as if you may have a good defense that should be considered in terms of mitigation. A lot will depend on the Prosecutor handling the case and the arresting agency and who quickly you secure counsel to deal with the problem.

You should retain counsel at once to review all the relevant facts and develop an appropriate strategy.
