Legal Question in Criminal Law in New Jersey

I was questioned yesterday by an e-commerce investigator for a major retail chain regarding my ebay account, where I have sold numerous items over the past year. When presented with the evidence against me, I confessed to shoplifting the items from the chain and explained in detail the reasons how and why I did this. The investigator told me that law enforcement had NOT been notified and that I was lucky..he intended to speak to the vice-president of the chain today about how to handle the situation. He told me point blank that he appreciated my candor and that he did not want me to go to jail, and his recommendation to the vice-president based on my character would be as such. He also mentioned that if I was willing to pay restitution for these thefts, as well as perhaps appear in other training related things for the company regarding loss prevention, he feels that law enforcement might not need to be notified. The amount in question over the course of the year aproximated $60,000.

You don't actually ask a question, and apparently you don't have any charges filed against you, so at this time it does not seem you need a lawyer. If charges are brought against you, then please contact my office to discuss how I can help you.

Sincerely yours, -Ronald Aronds, Esq.- 908-272-0111
