Legal Question in Criminal Law in New Jersey

I was stopped in a routine traffic stop and the officer informed me that my DL was suspended due to a judgement. He issued me a driving on the suspen ticket.I immediately called DMV and found out that I was supposedly in a hit and run accident in NY and there was a 8000 judgement against me and it has suspended my DL. But I have never been in a hit and run or have I been in NY. This has cost me to lose my job and as a single mother of 4 kids cost my family to struggle after I prove my innocents am I able to seek legal action against all involved??
