Something will happen. It all depends on a number of factors. You should have a talk with a criminal lawyer. Call me if you like.

Simple assault is a lower level criminal offense called a Disorderly Persons Offense. You could do up to six months in the county jail if convicted and have to pay fines and other mandatory penalties in excess of $1,000.00. In addition to this, you may end up having a restraining order against you on behalf of the victim. In short, this is a very serious offense and I strongly suggest you consult with a lawyer about how to best handle this matter. Please contact my office for a free consultation to discuss your case in more detail. Thank you.

Sincerely yours, -Ronald Aronds, Esq.-
