Legal Question in DUI Law in New Jersey

Insurance Accountability

My son (age 25) was arrested for DWI in NJ and was also involved in a motor vehicle accident. My son does not live with us, except for Holiday visits. His is a listed driver on his girlfriend's father's policy. An attorney for the Girlfriend's father's policy said they might try to come after us. With that in mind, is there any way possible that we (parents) can be sued as a result of his accident?

Re: Insurance Accountability

I do not see how you could be sued unless you owned the car driven by your son and there is the possibility of a claim of your negligently entrusting you son with the car.

Call me if you like.
