Legal Question in Civil Litigation in New Jersey

Citizen complaint for careless driving

I had someone file a complaint against me for careless driving. We both backed into each other in a parking lot. I had witnesses who told the police she was on a cell phone. No ticket was given to me at the scene. Do I need a lawyer when I go to testify at the trial?

Hi:

The careless driving is not considered a serious offense if you have a clean license. However, it always recommended that you appear in court when testfying with counsel.

Good Luck

It depends on how important this is to you. Generally, I would say no unless 2 points will really hurt you or you don't have much insurance and its possible that you can get sued. If you don't have those concerns, then don't worry about it.
