Legal Question in Civil Litigation in New Jersey

Is it possible for a credit card company to get a subpoena for court and have a warrant for arrest issued if you don't show up to pay a debt? Also if the only thing you own is a car, can they have that taken away for collateral?

No. It sounds like you received an Information Subpoena, followed by a Motion to Enforce Litigant's Rights when you did not answer the questions contained in the Information Subpoena. The warrant for arrest is the penalty for failing to answer the questions, NOT for failing to pay. Your bank accounts and other property may be levied upon to satisfy a judgment. If you would like assistance, feel free to call me. My office is in Mt. Laurel.
