Legal Question in Civil Litigation in New Jersey

I received a subpoena as a witness in a civil case in New Jersey. I appeared on the date agreed upon only to learn the attorney that issued the subpoena was delayed in court and unable to make it to the deposition. I am now expected to appear on September 1 for the deposition. My question is, since I showed up the first deposition am I legally obligated to appear on the rescheduled date?

A subpoena is a court order. If you think that you have good cause not to appear, you or your lawyer must apply to the court from which the subpoena issued for relief.
