Legal Question in Civil Litigation in New Jersey

If you send someone an email and state that if they do not respond within 2 weeks, you will assume that they agree with you, is that legal?

It's legal to do it. I doesn't create a contract or any obligation on the part of the recipient, however. Such emails can be safely disregarded unless they are communications incident to a contract that is already in place that permits modifications by that means or a part of certain communications between merchants under that UCC. See also: http://info.corbettlaw.net/lawguru.htm

Sending the email is legal but, unless there is more to the story, merely failing to meet your chosen deadline will not create a contract or amount to an admission by the recipient.
