Re: Waiver of depotation

Thank you for your inquiry. Please be advised that you have not retained me and the infomation given is in response to a limited amount of information you supplied.

However, in order to obtain a green card, you need to go to the INS office nearest you (Philadelphia and Newark) and fill out Form 1-551 (Alien Registration Reciept Card). If you already have a green card, it lasts for 10 years and then it must be renewed. Is there a problem where you are in danger of being deported? If so, write me back with the specific problem and I will try to assist or you can contact me at 908-537-7975. If you cannot afford an attorney, contact your County legal aid and if you qualify for their assitance, they will assist you for free.

GOOD LUCK

If you need an application for a stay of deportation, you need to go to the INS office and obtain form I-246. The filing fee for this application is $155.00.
