Legal Question in Intellectual Property in New Jersey

reprinting rights

A newspaper in New Jersey paid for a series of articles, and is now reprinting these articles. Do they have the right to do so? Didn't they just have rights to one time printing?

Re: reprinting rights

Whether the newspaper has the right to print a pruchased article more than once depends on the the contract between the author and the publisher and whether the article was written before or after the contract was made.
