Legal Question in Personal Injury in New Jersey

My relative was bitten by a dog. Her husband sued the owner. The owner then sued the husband alleging his negligence. My relative's lawyer says he can't represent them in this third pary action and they need to get another defense lawyer to answer third party claim. Why is this so?

I am going to make an educated guess:

your relative and her husband sue dog owner.

dog owner sues husband claiming husband caused the dog to bite. which caused harm to husband's wife, your relative.

if that is what is going on, there is a problem: husband may end up owing to wife. that is the conflict of interest.
