Legal Question in Product Liability in New Jersey

Sick product

I recently purchased a chinchilla from a local pet store. I only had her for about a week and she is already sick. I spoke with the pet store owner and it sounds like he won't pay for a vet bill. What can be done for this situation to be resolved and what rights am I entitled to since I was sold a ''faulty'' product?

Re: Sick product

You may have a problem proving that he knew the animal was sick and that it didn't get sick until you took it home. Your best bet is to try to resolve it with him before court or just take him to small claims court. You can also try calling your local BBB/consumer affairs dept.
