Legal Question in Real Estate Law in New Jersey

Condo Law and associated problems

Hypothetically, If I had a dishwasher which had developed a leak, and this leak was affecting the person below me(in terms of water seeping through the walls), provided that there is no damage beyond this person having to clean up the leakage, does this person have a right to sue for an entire new kitchen(at least the cabinets).

I am correct is saying this person is only entitiled to the fair market replacement of what was actually damaged? If the kitchen cabinets are 60 years old, how does a replacement cost get calculated?

Hypothetically someone has the right to sue you for anything.

Generally one can recover the fair market value of destroyed property.

Experts are often utilized to determine the fair market value. Judges and juries make the factual determination.

Good luck to you.
