Legal Question in Real Estate Law in New Jersey

Summer Rental

I was going to do a summer share with some friends but decided not to and am being told now that I can't get my $1000 back until May 26th, memorial day weekend. I was also told that if they don't get enough people in the house, I will lose my $1000 as a security. One, I'm on even on the lease...two...I gave them 4 months notice...Three....its only a summer share with about 10 other people from memorial day 2003 to labor day.

my bone of contention...I want my money back, guranteed either ASAP or Memorial Day at the latest. What is my legal recourse on this matter?

Re: Summer Rental

Depending on what it says in the lease you signed, you might be liable for the entire rental unless they find a suitable replacement for you.
