Legal Question in Sexual Harassment in New Jersey

Distribution of Sexually Explicit Materials in the Workplace

A few weeks ago, I was in a coworker's office when another employee approched me and said they had received a ''gift'' from the Senior Vice President. It turned out that the SVP had provided the employee with Playboy magazines for the past few months. I was shocked and advised the somewhat naiive employee to put it away and never to show anyone. My question is, is it unlawful for upper management, or anyone for that matter, to distribute Playboy magazines in the workplace? Also, would the SVP's knowledge of the naiivity and newness to the US have a greater affect on the issue?

I never like to make a snap judgment based upon limited facts such as these, but it appears that this falls into the category of hostile environment harassment. You should definitely contact our offices at 267.639.3105, or at [email protected]
