Legal Question in Tax Law in New Jersey

1099's

Its my first time doing 1099's...I ordered a 4 part form. I printed copies for the recipients and our copies...do I send another copy to NJ state? Do the recipients only get one copy or do they get one copy for themself, one for their Federal and one for state? As far as I can tell, NJ requires me to send them a copy for only $1,000 and over...Help?

Re: 1099's

Recipient usually only gets one copy, as Forms 1099 are not usually sent as an attachment to their tax return (Federal and/or State). You must send a copy of each form, along with Form 1096 (Transmittal Form which list the total income included on all Forms 1099) to IRS. If you need assistance, the Forms 1099 and 1096 are available on the IRS website along with instructions.
