Legal Question in Traffic Law in New Jersey

Driving with suspended license

I received a Complaint-Summons in the city of Kenilworth, NJ for statute no. 39:3-40, driving with a suspended license. However, I was unaware my license was ''suspended'' since after I received notification of the suspension in December due to unpaid parking tickets, I paid the tickets and required $100 restoration fee required to re-instate my driving privledges on Jan. 2, 2008. I received the moving violation on Jan. 16, two weeks after paying to restore my license since the computer system had not yet updated my information. Do I have a case if I plead guilty? If not what type of punishment would I be looking at?

Re: Driving with suspended license

First, do NOT plead guilty. You are facing heavy fines and potentially a loss of your license for up to 6 months if you plead guilty. Based on what you are telling me there is a good chance to beat this ticket. My office is about a mile from the Kenilworth court so I represent people there all the time. Please contact me to discuss your case in more detail. I never charge for simply talking to a person about their case. Thank you.

Sincerely yours, -Ronald Aronds, Esq.-
