Legal Question in Traffic Law in New Jersey

Failure to wear seatbelt

I was the passenger when vans were targeted for--name removed--motor vehicle inspection - van had correct id, insurance and sticker. Officer said I did not have my seat belt on - I looked down and it was on - I always wear my seatbelt. He said that he saw me put it on , issued--name removed--summons and then released us. I have pleaded ''not guilty'' and have--name removed--court date. There were 2 other officers there but they were busy setting up the inspection equip. My husband was operating the vehicle and knows that I put my seatbelt on as soon as I got into the van - about 3 miles away. What is going to happen? What can I use to prove my innocence?

Re: Failure to wear seatbelt

Why waste your time with this? The cop will say you just put it on and the court will discredit your testimony and that of your husbands. It will cost you more money and you will probably spend over 10 hours in total at the court. I think your time is better spent with your husband doing something nice.
