Legal Question in Traffic Law in New Jersey

Off-Duty PO Issues 8 tickets=18pts

Hi, this past sunday I had two on duty police officers come to my house from my town and gave me 8 tickets equaling out to 18pts that another off duty PO wrote. They were written by an off duty PO from my town in his own private vehicle. I didnt get pulled over or anything. The PO said that he saw me break these certain laws whether he was in front of me or in back of me....

Here are the 8 citations

1.failure to stop or yield

2.no signaling before turning

3.horns

4.passing to the left

5.traffic control devices

6.following

7.reckless driving

8.unclear plates

The only incident I rememeber on that day involving another car was when i was on my way to the autobody shop...there was an 04 black acura tl in front of me going 30 in a 40 so i wasnt on his ass but i was maybe a car length behind him to try and get him to go the speed limit. After a couple of seconds the car pulled over to the right with his blinkers and i passed him on the left....6 hrs later i got the 2 officers at my door with all these summons'

If you accumulate 12 or more points on your license, it will be suspended by the NJ Division of Motor Vehicles and you won't be able to drive for a month or more. It sounds to me like the cops got the wrong guy and I'd really like to see their police report to find out what this was all about. You may have to take this case to trial since it sounds like the cops have it in for you for some reason. At the very least I would hire a lawyer to try and reduce the number of points you are facing. I am an attorney who has handled many cases similar to yours in various courts in New Jersey in the past. I would like to discuss this case with you in more detail. Please call me at 908-272-0111 to speak about this matter. There is never any charge for simply discussing a case with me. Thank you. Sincerely yours, -Ronald Aronds, Esq.-
