Legal Question in Traffic Law in New Jersey

I registered aunts car- now have 26 tickets

I was young and naive and I registered my aunts car in my name. Two years later Im finding out that I have 26 tickets and bench warrants that I was unaware of all this time. I dont have the money to pay and she says she doesnt either. What can I do to clear MY name. Can I turn her in or something?? PLease help...

It sounds like your aunt has badly mistreated you. You are going to have to take all of the paperwork to an attorney who does traffic tickets, and deal with the mess.

And you need to get that car OUT of your aunt's hands until you can get it OUT of your name. That will not fix the mess of the tickets that are already there.

Go talk to a lawyer who is reasonably near you.

If they are parking tickets then it would be your responsibility to pay them unless you could somehow convince the courts that you were not the one driving the car. If they are moving violations of some sort, then you need to talk to an attorney about each one to see what can be done for each specific ticket. After reviewing the tickets, notices from the court, etc., if it turns out that these tickets are something other than parking tickets, please contact me to discuss them.
