Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in New Jersey

Heirs By-Law

My grandmother died without having a will. She has raised my mother since she was 6 months old without the proper adoption papers. My mother's biolological mother left her because she had a achohol problem. My grandmother eas actually married my mother biologically father and they raised my mother as if she was both theirs. When my grandmother died, she had a house and other valuables in the house. My grandfather died many years ago but my grandmother still had his name. My grandmother also have three sons by another man as well. Who has the rights or heirs to her property - please advise.

It is not possible to answer your question without a great deal more information. Is there a Will? did your grandfather leave a Will? who owns the house, whose name is on the deed?

I think you really need to meet with (and pay) an attorney who handles Estates, to investigate and tell you what your rights are. Start with the Bar Association for your county. Good luck. Let me know if I can help.
