If a partially disabled person with Medicaid benefits gets an inheritance, how would a Special Needs Trust work for him? Will he lose complete control of his money?

Re: special needs trust info

In order to keep Medicaid, you can't have more than $2,000. You can use inherited money to buy some things, like a house to live in or a car, but the rest would be put into a SNT. You will lose control of the money in that you would not be the Trustee, but the trust can only be used for your benefit. You should consult with an experienced attorney to discuss all of your options.
