Does the state offer protection for an intestate decedent's children?

Person A dies intestate who owns a house jointly with person B. Person A has a son person B also has a son. Person B wills house to son but not person A's son. Does the law provided some sort of protection for person A's son?

Only if she dies without a will. Otherwise, no.
