Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in New Jersey

I am supposed to answer a complaint and order to show cause this wednesday 15 Jan.

in the probate court. I already received one adjournment because I only had 2 business days to answer. I should have had time to retain an attorney, but have not. Can I ask for another adjournment by letter to Judge before the 15th ? If I don't answer will I have a default judgement against me. If I retain attorney before hearing date of Jan 23, can he do motion for extension of time to become familiar with case, and then submit Answer.

Thanks for comments.

Yes, you should be given enough time to respond to the lawsuit, and yes, a good lawyer can get in there and start fighting for you quickly.

I do this work, for many years. Call me, and come in and see me. I will assist you.
