Can i recieve compensation

i hurt my back while lifting a case of drinks at my job, and i filed a workmans comp claim. i have seen a doctor in the past for back pain, so can my claim be denied as a pre existing condition?

No, your claim can not be denied if you had a pre-existing condition if the new accident made you worse or caused the need for more treatment.

Actually, in comp a pre-existing condition is not necessarily a bad thing. So long as a new injury or worsening can be shown, then the award can actaully be higher based upon the prior level of disability. I strongly suggest you contact an attorney to discuss your case.
