Re: Military Drafting

At present all males must register for the draft on their 18th birthday. Those with no serious physicial/mental defects, and those not otherwise exempt or deferred [students, some care-givers], are eligible to be called to basic training/active duty when their draft numbers are called. There are other exemptions which could apply such as conciencious objector. A detailed study of the federal statutes is in order for more specific information.
