Donation of anqique car to non-profit org to raffle

My elderly aunt has an antique car which she wants to ''donate'' to a non-profit organization so they can raffle it off, but she wants them to give back to her the appraisal value, so they can keep for the charity all they can make in excess of that amount. Is this legal?

Yes, it is legal. There is no legal prohibition against a charity paying for an item which it auctions or which is the subject of a lottery. Your aunt may have income tax consequences which she will want to check with her tax advisor.
