Legal Question in Criminal Law in New Mexico
is it leagal for a 20yr old male to consentualy date a 15 yr old female.
mo sex between them and less that 5 years appart in age.
didn't kno what law would apply

It is not illegal for two people to "date" under the circumstances you describe, but it is very foolish and dangerous. Too many ways the male can run afoul of crimes involving minors, such as touching a private part, and too many risks to such a male that if things go bad he will be criminally charged in some way, to say nothing of what the parents might do if they are disturbed by the relationship. There are many woman of legal age available in the world. Find one. With a 15 year-old you are playing with blazing fire.
