Legal Question in Sexual Harassment in New Mexico

Can I sue for slander if an employer falsly documents lies about you?

I was fired from my police academy for complaining about sexual harassment. I was employed and being paid by a city agency as a police officer when I was in the academy. State police regulates the rules for the academy in New Mexico and did an investigation on my alligations. He lied and changed my statements that I provided to him to make me look bad. Even though he tape recorded my statements, he still lied in his report to defend the police academy. Can I sue him for slander? His report is preventing me from obtaining employment from another police department.

Tape vs written report in sexual harassment claim

Am confused. If your interview with the investigator was taped, I should think that would automatically show how the investigastor changed in his report what you told him.Until more is known, it will be difficult for anyone to answer you.
