Legal Question in Administrative Law in New York

If I am a consultant/Finders Fee and I find investors for different projects (example for a movie) and it was agreed in the contract my fee would be 3-5%. Then the investor decide that he did not want to pay me nothing because somehow he was informed about the project from other sources. How can I legally challenge this dispute or is there a letter I can used to inform this person that he is breaking a contract.
