Legal Question in Business Law in New York

car dealer

To Whom It May Concern,

I have purchased a used car a week ago. The dealer is refusing to fix a problem that was found with the engine by the manufacturer's diagnostic team. The dealer is refusing to aknowledge the Lemon law from what I understand. He just hangs up when I call.

Besides, the dealer has given false information regarding the state of the car, car components and some other important details. Moreover, the dealer did not provide lemon law declaration papers nor purchased car warranty declaration page.

thank you so much

Re: car dealer

I just want to add a few suggestions to Mr. Braverman's reply: contact the NYS Attorney General's Office's Consumer Division; also consider giving the car dealer's name to your local Better Business Bureau.

Re: car dealer

You may wish to report the discrepancies to the police dept. and then retain an attorney to take the dealer to court.

Make sure that you have complied with the notice provisions of the Lemon Law.
