Legal Question in Business Law in New York

As a co-founder and Vice President of a legal non-profit in New York state, can the President of the organization change my status? (I have been completely removed from the website...no legal papers have been sent to me as of yet).

Thank you,

AC

You haven't supplied enough information for any attorney to answer your question.

However, Not-for-profits in New York must have at least three directors. Assuming there are only three named in your Certificate of Incorporation, you can indeed be removed by vote of a majority of the directors (in other words by vote of the other two).

My recommendation is to consult a business attorney, specifically one who has experience in Not-For-Profits as you truly won't get a sufficient answer on this forum.

I hope this helps.
