Legal Question in Business Law in New York

How fair is this

I was a company based in ny providing services for another

company. The company owed me money and was not informing me of how they would pay me or when. I decided to shutdown services i had provided for them unless i got paid. When we set an arrangement as to when i was going to get paid they had NY Det. arrest me. I was held in the precint for about 8 hours wih out knowing what i was being charged with exactly and with no outside communication. The company who had called the police to have me arrest is one of the partners husbands. I also found out that company has stolen my identity and opened credit with out my consent. I now live in Maine and I can't afford a lawyer but I do want to press charges for failure to pay, Identity theft. and and unfair use of the law. What should I do

Re: How fair is this

This event should be immediately brought to the attention of the FBI. You must bring them as much objective evidence (documents, etc.) as you may have. You may also have an opportunity to bring a civil lawsuit. Were any charges actually filed against you or were you just released after the eight hours? After we review the details, we would be in a better position to know which direction to take, but you should immediately report these events.

We can offer you a free telephone consultation to discuss the matter. You can call us at 212-267-7000 and leave a message on extension number 11 or call on Monday.
