Legal Question in Business Law in New York

How should a lawyer be paid in this instance?

I want to import some goods. The country that supplies the products is a bit shady so I want to hire one of two law firms that are used in that country by companies here in the states.

How should they be paid? After delivery, before or what? I also want them to verify that my source is legit and make sure the shipment gets here.

You can have our firm offer to have either of these firms become members of our Nance Group, which would allow my firm to escrow payment for their services according to terms you negotiate with them. Otherwise, you will want to pay later and they'll be insecure or the reverse. As we currently only have foreign member for Sicily, Italy, I'm certain that we can accommodate one of these firms, as long as they are honorable.
